Arabella Forge

She is the author of the cookbook Frugavore: How to Grow Your Own, Buy Local, Waste Nothing and Eat Well (Black Inc 2010) which has been published and distributed throughout Australia and the USA. She also writes a regular restaurant review and food column for The Melbourne Review and www.goodfood.com.au (The Age, Sydney Morning Herald, Canberra Times and Brisbane Times) and is a speaker at food events and slow food forums.

Arabella is passionate about all issues relating to food, nutrition and global food politics. She has a family history of farming and loves getting her hands dirty and connecting directly to the source of her food. She is also a passionate gardener, chook keeper and a very proud mum.

Arabella’s talk prompted several diverse questions so people listened and applied what she said to their own situation.

We would thoroughly recommend Arabella as an engaging and thought-provoking speaker. She encouraged us to think about what we eat and where we source food and gave several useful suggestions for small changes that we can all make immediately.

—L. Artis, Oxford University Press, December 2012
