Dale Martin is a sustainability expert and renowned environmental advocate.
Dale co-founded and led the Plastic Bag Free Victoria ‘Ban the Bag’ campaign resulting in the successful ban of single-use plastic bags in Victoria.
As councillor for the City of Moreland between 2016-2020, Dale has shaped environmental initiatives across Moreland including a sustainable procurement strategy, introducing greater environmental standards for planning and transport and leading the development and adoption of a zero waste strategy for the city.
Dale has also served on the board of the Australian Energy Foundation and has appeared as a judge for Sustainability Victoria’s ResourceSmart Schools competition.
He published the ‘Local Government Climate Emergency Toolkit’ which provides practical steps for local communities to take action on climate change.
Dale currently works in environmentally sustainable design, environmental policy and mentors councillors across the state.
