NAIDOC WEEK: 4–11 July 2021

NAIDOC Week is just around the corner; a time to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The 2021 NAIDOC Week theme ‘Heal Country’ acknowledges the too often ignored pleas to protect, maintain and respect country and culture. It is a call to action to right these injustices and work together to heal our nation; an endeavour more important now than ever.

The National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) have sadly announced that this year’s National NAIDOC Awards ceremony in Mparntwe, Alice Springs, has been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. However, the committee will still be hosting a nationally televised gala event to celebrate, so be sure to tune in from wherever you are.

You can also be actively involved in NAIDOC Week by bringing together your community or workplace to listen to and celebrate First Nations voices.

We work with some outstanding speakers in a variety of areas – from advocacy to the arts, education and sport – leading the conversation for change.
