Eric Campbell is one of Australia’s best-known and most experienced foreign correspondents. Since 1996 he has worked in more than 100 countries and reported from every continent including Antarctica. Eric has been the ABC bureau chief in Russia, China and Afghanistan and spent decades travelling the world as roving reporter for ABC TV’s flagship international program Foreign Correspondent. His documentaries are regularly screened on al Jazeera, the BBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and CNN. Eric has won a Logie award for news reporting and multiple international awards including Gold at the New York Festivals. He has covered wars in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Kosovo and Iraq, where he was wounded in a deadly suicide bombing. He is the author of two best-selling memoirs, Absurdistan and Silly Isles. Eric currently lives in Sydney with his wife and infant daughter.
